WORLDS FIRST ROTATING CAMERA PHONE

Chinese company Oppo has announced the availability of its new smartphone N1 from December 10. The tech world is awaiting the release of this 5.9-inch phablet with innovative features. Here are three distinct features that make this device stand out:

1.ROTATING CAMERA:

This device has the world's first rotating camera that rotates 206 degrees, which ensure front shots as good as back shots. The 13-megapixel camera has six physical lenses and an f/2.0 aperture. This lets you to take clear photos even in the dark. Twisting the camera module automatically activates the camera app and the module will securely lock at any angle.

2.O-TOUCH:

N1 is coming out with a 12cm square touch panel on the back. It can be used to scroll through web pages, tap open apps and links, and also control the camera’s shutter.

3.O-CLICK:

O-Click lets you remotely operate the N1 camera. This keyring-like device helps you find the misplaced phone by setting off an alarm. O-Click fits on your keychain and supports a range of up to 50 meters, staying connected to your N1 via Bluetooth (BLE).

Operating System:

Oppo is launching this device with its own Android version called Color. Users can also install CyanogenMod custom firmware directly from the phone’s stock recovery. It will also produce a limited edition N1 which runs on standard CyanogenMod OS. What is CyanogenMod? It’s an open source replacement distribution for smartphones and tablets based on the Android OS.

N1 features a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, and either 16 to 32 GB storage. It releases on December 10 in Europe and America. It will cost $599 in America and €449 in Europe. The launch date for Indian market is yet to be announced.

BLACKBERRY Z10 PORCHE DESIGN

BlackBerry is a company in financial trouble, but it doesn’t act like it and it got a brand new Porsche – a Porsche Design P’9982 based on the BlackBerry Z10 that is. It’s an exclusive device, only 500 units will be sold worldwide.

So, what do you get for the extra cash over the pedestrian Z10? You can watch the official hands-on video to find out.
The luxury starts off with the box – it’s much bigger than the standard boxes most phones come in and inside there are several chargers so jetsetters don’t have to bother with adapters. There’s also Porsche Design headphones with tangle-free cables and a cloth. Inside each box you’ll find a PIN to confirm that you have indeed purchased an exclusive device.
The device itself is constructed out of satin-finish stainless steel frame and hand-wrapped backs of genuine Italian leather. An even more limited edition of the phone will feature genuine crocodile leather instead.
The software on the Porsche Design P’9982 is BlackBerry OS 10.2 with some modifications, including rectangular app icons and a new watch face (exciting stuff, I know).
If you thought that shelling out £1,500 / $2,400 for the phone is enough to get you all the goodies, think again. You can buy an optional leather carrying case (it’s a dilemma between protecting the expensive handset and not being able to enjoy its coveted design). There are also hand-crafted customized backs made of leather.
The Porsche Design P’9982 will be available on Novemenr 21 at Harrods, Knightsbridge in London, but also the much less fancy Carphone Warehouse and Selfridges. Again, the price is £1,500 / $2,400, more reasonable than the $6,600 Vertu Constellation but that’s not saying much. Also, FYI the hardware (other than the steel and leather) costs £180.
The limited crocodile leather edition will be launched later in December (price is unknown). Hopefully, people’s common sense wouldn’t have caught up to good taste by then.

WINDOWS PHONE 8.1 TO GET A BUILTIN FILE MANAGER

Windows Phone is growing fast, but still lacks some features users might want. That’s why Microsoft has set up a feature suggestion program in which anyone is free to participate.

One such reader has submitted a request for a native file manager in Windows Phone 8.1 and got a reply from the Windows Phone team that the request has been completed, meaning we might see the feature in the next update to the OS.
WP has had rather limited file managing skills ever since its inception and even though things improved recently and we got some decent third-party alternative so it’s great to see the feature going native. iOS lacks in this department while Android has the widest selection of file managers available. We’d much rather see some type of unified notification system in Windows Phone, though.
