G-ARCH THE NEW SMARTWATCH FROM LG

Now is the time of Smart-watch race and Samsung is leading it with Galaxy Gear.Sony is also a part of it,even-though they had a head start they didn't do well.Besides these two giants Apple & Google are rumoured to be releasing their very own smartwatches soon.So its time for the Korean giant to step into the race as well with its new G-Arch Smartwatch.

Rumor has it that, in concurrence with the launch of the G3, LG will be releasing the G-Arch smart watch and the G-Arch fitness band. The names of the devices are self explanatory, so expect them to have features similar to the Galaxy Gear smart watch and Nike fuel band respectively. In fact, LG had a device akin to Nike's fitness recorder at CES 2013 called the Smart Activity Tracker, so they definitely do have their eyes on wearable tech.

LG hasn't confirmed any specific details on potential wearable devices, but they did confirm that they were planning to release a "wearable product" in the future. A debut at CES 2014 is a safe bet.

HTC ONE,LG G PAD 8.3 GETTING ANDROID 4.4.2 KITKAT

As we mentioned before a lot of devices are getting upgrades to Kitikat and the good news is the update is already seeding to a couple of devices outside the Nexus family.

The Google Play Editions of the HTC One and the LG G Pad 8.3 are now getting the Android 4.4.2 update over the air. The update weighs in at just over 50MB and should already be waiting for you in your notification area. And in case it isn't, you can perform a manual check by going to Settings > About > System updates on either device.

As the minor change in the version number suggests, this isn't a major update and it mostly addresses bugs around the platform. Early adopters also notice a few minor UI tweaks, but the release is mostly about improving stability and tweaking performance.

HOW TO ROOT NEXUS 5

CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.


INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download the ZIP file here
2. Extract the ZIP file
3. Boot your device in bootloader/fastboot mode. Usually this can be done by turning your device off, then holding VolUp+VolDown+Power Button to turn it on.
4. Connect your device to your computer using USB

Windows:
Run root-windows.bat

Linux
chmod +x root-linux.sh
Run root-linux.sh

Mac OS X
chmod +x root-mac.sh
Run root-mac.sh

Follow the on-screen instructions - watch both the computer and the device !!!!!!

Note:

• If your device had not been unlocked before, this procedure will wipe all your data 

• Are you having fastboot driver issues? You can find fastboot drivers in many places, but the easiest way is probably just installing the Android SDK.

• Did you see the red Android logo during rooting, but SuperSU does not appear? This may sometimes occur due to left-over files and settings, however, you can usually install SuperSU from Google Play at this stage and it'll just work.

HOW TO DISABLE THE ANNOYING CERTIFICATE POPUP IN KITKAT

Security is important, as right now, devices can be hacked, phished, or scammed in multiple ways. That’s why protections are so important, especially in public areas. Security certificates were invented and widely used to prevent thieves from stealing our data.

By installing a custom security certificate to bypass the “Your network could be monitored” message when connecting to certain networks in KitKat. This pop up can be annoying, and it forces you to ignore the message when it could actually matter.

The certificate can be pushed to /system/etc/security/cacerts/ folder, and the device will interpret it as a trusted certificate. As a result, that little annoyance will be disabled for good for specific sites of your choosing. The certificate file must be saved in PEM format and edited as suggested in the guide. The device must be rooted to allow copying the file to /system partition. After this process is done, the newly created certificate can be freely enabled or disabled from the trusted certificates list.

Note:This is a guide written for Nexus 5 devices. If the file /system/etc/security/cacerts.bks exists on your device, refer to this tutorial.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Save your certificate in the PEM format
2. Get the subject of the certificate with "openssl x509 -inform PEM -subject_hash -in CERTIFICATE.FILE" It should be in a format similar to eg "0b112a89"
3. Save the certificate into a text file with "openssl x509 -inform PEM -text -in CERTIFICATE.FILE > yourcert.txt"
4. Switch the PEM section and the text, "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----[...]" has to be at the beginning of the file
5. Rename the file to 0b112a89.0 (replace with the subject you got in step 2)
6. Copy the file into /system/etc/security/cacerts/ and make sure chmod permissions are set to 0644 (rw,r,r)
7. Your certificate should now show up in the trusted certificate list

MIUI CUSTOM FOR LG OPTIMUS ME P350

REQUIREMENTS

• Backup all the necessary data
• At least 60% battery charge
• Close all your antivirus software and disable the firewall protection as they interrupt in between the installation process.
• Run the device on USB Debugging Mode. This can be done by going to Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and tick the checkbox.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download the MIUI package from here . After downloading connect mobile to pc in mass storage mode via USB.

2. Now, remore the USB cable and turn off your mobile. Press and hold Volume Down + Call Button + Power Button to enter recovery mode.

3. Clear the cache by selecting Clear Storage & Wipe Cache Data in recovery mode. After doing this, “install zip from SD Card” > “Choose zip from SD Card” and choose the MIUI file which you placed it on your mobile from pc. Also choose “Google Apps” Zip file  which you saved in the first step.

4. The installation process will start after you have chosen both files. After the installation thing is done, the device will restart automatically or will land on recovery mode.

5. If it lands back to recovery mode, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” to restart it.

Note: If some app interrupts in between you need to repreat the whole process again.

HOW TO ROOT LG OPTIMUS 2X ON STOCK GB

REQUIREMENTS

• ClockworkMod NVFlash installer

INSTRUCTIONS

1. First you need to download NVFlash and extract it to any drive(C:\NV used here) Then                 download the SU303.zip and copy it on your external SD-card

2. Power off your phone and remove the battery.

3. Press and hold volume-up AND volume-down and connect the device to computer via           USB

The next step is for people who have not used NVFlash before. If you have, skip to Step 5

4. If you have not used this mode before, called APX- or NVFlash-mode, your computer will     
    indicate it has found a new device it has no driver for. The screen on the phone will remain 
    black.

    Right-click My Computer, select Manage, then Device-management. You should see a 
    device with a yellow exclamation mark. Right-click it, select update/install driver. Select to 
    manually search for a driver. Browse to C:\NV\driver, click Next. You should be greeted by a 
    message telling you that «NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for Mobile devices» has been 
    installed.

5. NVFlash ClockworkMod

    Windows 7/Vista
    Navigate to the C:\NV folder, double-click the script called «flash-recovery». If you have an 
    external SD-card press 2, if not press 1.

   Windows XP
   If you have an SD-card, double-click the "install_external_xp" batch-file, if not double-click the 
   "install_internal_xp" batch-file.

   The phone will display a Software-upgrade-screen, while the command-window will inform          you of the progress. After a little while it'll be finished and you can press any key to exit.Just 
   to be safe, wait another 10 seconds before removing the usb-cable from the phone.

6. Remove the battery and power on again

7. Hold volume-down while pressing the power-key.Hold until you see an LG-Logo with a 
    bluish halo. Now you should be in the ClockworkMod.

8. Choose «Install Zip from sdcard»

9. «choose zip from sdcard». Navigate to where you put SU303.zip, select it and confirm.         after a short while it'll inform you it's done.

10.Press back-button, select «reboot system now.»
11.Now go the market and install and run Busybox installer by JRummy16. Grant it root 
     access when it asks, click OK bottom right, scroll to the bottom of the next screen and click 
     Install.You're done.

HOW TO ROOT NEXUS 4 FOR [WINDOWS/MAC OSX/LINUX/UBUNTU]

1. Go to Settings->About Phone on your Nexus 4.

2.Hit the “Build Number” couple times until your phone says, “You are now a 

   developer”.  Hit the back button. 

3.You will now see extra menu called “Developer options”, hit it.

4.Make sure Developer options is ON and USB debugging is also checked then 

   connect a micro-USB cable from your Nexus 4 to your computer.  

5.For Windows, you will need to install drivers. If you have Linux/Ubuntu or Mac 

   OSX, skip to Step 7.

6.Open Device Manager on your computer and update the Nexus 4 with 

   exclamation mark with drivers provided in Nexus4Root.zip.

If you see something like “Android ADB Interface” you are ready for the next step.

7.Open a command prompt (or terminal for Linux/Ubuntu or Mac) and type:

For Windows: 
cd Downloads
cd Nexus4Root
adb backup -apk -all -f backup.ab
 
For Linux/Ubuntu:
sudo -i
cd /home/UserName/Downloads/Nexus4Root
chmod 755 *
./adb-linux backup -apk -all -f backup.ab
 
For Mac OSX:
cd Downloads
cd Nexus4Root
chmod 755 *
./adb-mac backup -apk -all -f backup.ab

8.Go to your phone and you should see a Pop-up window asking you if you 

   want to backup your data, hit “Back up my data”.  This will backup all of your 

   settings, apps, app data, wifi passwords, etc…etc…  It will NOT BACKUP 

   contents of your internal storage such as your personal videos/photos (you 

   should have done that before following this guide!!!).

9.Once backup is done, go ahead and turn your Nexus 4 power off.  Then hold 

   down the Volume Down and Power buttons together for about 5 seconds.  

10.Once in bootloader menu, connect a micro-USB cable from your Nexus 4 to 

      your computer.

11.Open up Device Manager again, if you don’t see “Android ADB Interface” you 

     will have to install drivers again.  Repeat Step 5 to install drivers.  For 

     Ubuntu/Linux or Mac OSX, skip to Step 12, no drivers required!

12.Next go back to command prompt/terminal and type:

For Windows: 
adb oem unlock
 
For Linux/Ubuntu:
./adb-linux oem unlock
 
For Mac OSX: 
./adb-mac oem unlock

13.Go to your Nexus 4, hit the Volume Up button to select “Yes” and hit the 

      Power button.  Then hit the Power button again to re-boot your phone

14.Once re-booted, your Nexus 4 will be like the day you got it, everything wiped 

      and starting from scratch. Go ahead and sign in.  

15.Connect your Nexus 4 to your computer and copy the file CWM-SuperSU-

      v0.99.zip to anywhere on your Nexus 4.

If you have trouble on Mac OSX connecting to your Nexus 4, 

download and install Android File Transfer.
Also, if you have more trouble, you can 

download this file (It will be saved in your Downloads folder btw.)

16.Re-boot into the bootloader like you did in Step 9 and connect a micro-USB 

     cable from your Nexus 4 to your computer.  

17.Go back to your command prompt/terminal and type:

For Windows:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-mako.img
 
For Linux/Ubuntu:
./fastboot-linux flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-mako.img
 
For Mac/OSX:
./fastboot-mac flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-mako.img

18.Go back to your Nexus 4, choose “Recovery mode” using Volume buttons 

     and hit the Power button.  

19.Once in ClockworkMod(CWM) Recovery, choose “install zip from sdcard”.

20.Next, choose “choose zip from sdcard”.  

21.Choose “0/”.

22.Choose “CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip” and hit “Yes”.  This is the actual rooting 

     file, which included su binaries and SuperSU app, giving your phone root.  

    This is the only part of this tutorial that actually roots your Nexus 4.  We only 

    did all the other steps to unlock the bootloader and install CWM Recovery 

    which allows us to install this file on our phone.  

23.Choose “Reboot” from the main menu, if you see the following screen, make 

     sure to choose “Yes – Disable recovery flash”.  This is so you will have 

     permanent CWM recovery as stock Android operating system overwrites it on 

     re-boot if you don’t say yes here.

24.Once rebooted you should find an extra app in the app drawer called 

     “SuperSU”.  Congratulations!  You’ve successfully rooted your Nexus 4!  You 

     can download rooted apps like Titanium Backup app (which I highly 

     recommend you to run once) and verify you have full root.  

25.Now, let’s try to restore some of your settings, apps, and app data.  If you did 

     make a backup of your internal storage before you started rooting, go ahead 

     and copy all your files back into Nexus 4 internal storage.

Next, go back to command prompt/terminal and type:

For Windows: 
adb restore backup.ab
  
For Linux/Ubuntu: 
./adb-linux restore backup.ab
  
For Mac OSX: 
./adb-mac restore backup.ab

REQUIREMENTS


1 Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone.
2. The Nexus 4 should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
3. Ensure the battery of the tablet is charged more than 80 per cent.
4. The CF-Auto-Root file works only on Nexus 4. Applying this on any incorrect variant will brick    
     the device. Verify the model number of the Nexus 4 by navigating to Settings >> About 
    Phone.
5. Download the required files

• Android SDK
• CF-Auto-Root

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Install the Android SDK. The package includes the necessary drivers for connecting your 
   Nexus phone to the computer, which is mandatory for the rooting process.
2.Extract CF-Auto-Root file using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool.
3.Switch off the Nexus 4. Then boot the device into fastboot mode by pressing and holding Vol 
   Up + Vol Down + Power buttons together.
4.Connect the Nexus 4 to the computer using USB cable, then wait until Windows finished 
    installing the drivers.
5.Navigate to the folder where you extracted the CF-Auto-Root files, then run the following 
   command:

• Windows: Run root-windows.bat
• Linux: chmod +x root-linux.sh, Run root-linux.sh
• Mac OS X: chmod +x root-mac.sh, Run root-mac.sh

6.Follow the on-screen instructions. Once the rooting procedure completes, the phone will boot 
   into normal mode. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from  
   computer.
