JELLY BEAN UPDATE FOR LAVA IRIS 501

Please note that this is original Jelly Bean Firmware 4.1.1 of IRIS 501 provided by LAVA. Nothing is modded in this Firmware.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Switch off Mobile, Remove Battery and after few seconds again insert battery (Do not switch on mobile and also do not connect USB cable at this time)

2.Open SP Flash Tool, then click Scatter-loading button to load the scatter file. It will load Firmware files.
3. Click on Firmware Upgrade Button. It will check all files and it may give a Checksum Failed warning. Just Ignore this warning,
4. Click on OK if warning is there and connect mobile with USB cable. It will start updating your mobile. Complete process will take around 5 minutes. 

Congtrazzz now you have updated your Lava Iris 501 to Jellybean!!!!!!!!!!

HOW TO INSTALL CWM RECOVERY ON LAVA IRIS 501

REQUIREMENTS

1.SP Flash Tool
download
2.Media Tek Driver
download
3.CWM Recovery 6.0.3.0
download
4.Scatter File

INSTRUCTION

 1.   Make sure that mobile is Switch Off and not connected with PC
 2.   Create a separate folder in PC; for example "Recovery"
 3.   Copy Scatter File and CWM Recovery in this folder
 4.   Rename recovery_cwm_6.0.1.5_iris.img file to recovery.img
 5.   Start SP Flash Tools
 6.   Click on Scatter Loading button>Browse to "Recovery" Folder and select Scatter File
 7.   Now you will find that only Recovery file is checked in SP Tools
 8.   Click Download button
 9.   It will give you warning, Not ALL images are correctly loaded, which may cause boot 
       up issue! Do you still want to go on downloading anyway?
10. Click on Yes
11. Remove mobile battery and re-insert after 3-4 seconds (Do-not Switch ON Mob)
12. Connect mobile to PC with USB Cable
13. Flashing will start and it will be done in few seconds
14. Disconnect USB cable and Power On Mobile.

HOW TO ROOT LAVA IRIS 501

This rooting method is meant for LAVA Iris 501 running on 4.1.1 JB

REQUIREMENTS

1.About 70% battery power
2.Enable USB Debugging
3.You must have CWM Recovery installed in your phone
4.Install the drivers for your phone

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Download SU Package & SU Bin and copy them to your SD card
2.Now enter in recovery mode by pressing Volume Up + Power Button select recovery
   mode.Use volume up and down to navigate and power button select
3.Now do the following
   wipe data/factory reset
   wipe cache partition 
   wipe dalvik cache
4.Now go to main menu and select install zip from sd card and install superuser.zip and  
   then install su-bin.zip
5.After that go to main menu and select reboot system now
