WORLDS FIRST 128GB PHONNE

You may recall that a little while back we checked out China's Meizu MX3, and in addition to its unique 15:9 1,800 x 1,080 display, one of its other selling points is the 128GB storage option. Well, this version is finally available as of today, except it's only offered to the TD-SCDMA variant of the phone, meaning you can only use it on China Mobile's network or, if you're desperate, any GSM 2G network. If that's no problem and you have an address in China, then you can head over to online store JD.com and hand over CN¥3,999 (about US$660) for the 5.1-inch, Exynos 5 Octa-powered device off contract.

As for the rest of us, it's probably just a matter of time before the WCDMA-flavored MX3 gets the same treatment, so stay tuned. Alternatively, the upcomingVivo Xplay 3S is rumored to have a 128GB option as well, and given that it'll support both TD-LTE and FD-LTE, it might be a better buy for us speed freaks outside China.

CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.

HOW TO DISABLE THE ANNOYING CERTIFICATE POPUP IN KITKAT

Security is important, as right now, devices can be hacked, phished, or scammed in multiple ways. That’s why protections are so important, especially in public areas. Security certificates were invented and widely used to prevent thieves from stealing our data.

By installing a custom security certificate to bypass the “Your network could be monitored” message when connecting to certain networks in KitKat. This pop up can be annoying, and it forces you to ignore the message when it could actually matter.

The certificate can be pushed to /system/etc/security/cacerts/ folder, and the device will interpret it as a trusted certificate. As a result, that little annoyance will be disabled for good for specific sites of your choosing. The certificate file must be saved in PEM format and edited as suggested in the guide. The device must be rooted to allow copying the file to /system partition. After this process is done, the newly created certificate can be freely enabled or disabled from the trusted certificates list.

Note:This is a guide written for Nexus 5 devices. If the file /system/etc/security/cacerts.bks exists on your device, refer to this tutorial.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Save your certificate in the PEM format
2. Get the subject of the certificate with "openssl x509 -inform PEM -subject_hash -in CERTIFICATE.FILE" It should be in a format similar to eg "0b112a89"
3. Save the certificate into a text file with "openssl x509 -inform PEM -text -in CERTIFICATE.FILE > yourcert.txt"
4. Switch the PEM section and the text, "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----[...]" has to be at the beginning of the file
5. Rename the file to 0b112a89.0 (replace with the subject you got in step 2)
6. Copy the file into /system/etc/security/cacerts/ and make sure chmod permissions are set to 0644 (rw,r,r)
7. Your certificate should now show up in the trusted certificate list

ALL NEW GALAXY J FROM SAMSUNG

Earlier this fall Samsung launched Galaxy J smartphone in Japan. The SamsungGalaxyJ is already official and on sale on Japan's DoCoMo carrier but it now appears the phone is getting a wider release. The Galaxy J has been spotted on the Taiwanese communications regulatory website carrying the model number SGH-N075T, which could mean it will be available in other parts of Asia. Galaxy J is a premium device with a  5” with 1080p display and it is very similar to Galaxy S4 inside, but with Galaxy Note 3 looks, The device packs a 3GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.

It comes in three colors

• Coral Pink
• Satin White
• Lapis Blue

There is still a chance that the phone might be exclusive to Japan & Taiwan.The Galaxy is kinda like a Hybrid between the S4 and Note 3 and it will certainly be loved by people outside Japan & Taiwan.So we can hope that phone makes its way to otherparts of Asia soon.

FACEBOOK MESSENGER GETS A TOTAL MAKEOVER

Facebook has released an update to the Facebook Messenger app for iOS and Android that brings with it a complete overhaul of the UI. The design clearly looks like it was made for the new iOS 7 but carries over to the Android version as well.

At launch you’ll notice that the older dull gray and Facebook blue colors have been replaced by bright white and a brilliant blue combination. There are no more gradients and drop shadows anymore and the UI has a clean, flat UI that is consistent with the rest of iOS 7.

The new app makes it easy to see who is online and who isn’t. It also lets you send messages to people who are not on Facebook over SMS but you will have to sync your contacts with the app for them to appear in your list. Most of the other features remain the same.

The new design is available on both iOS and Android and even though it is optimized for iOS 7 it still looks great on Android. I’m hoping the main Facebook app also gets this updated UI shortly as it is long overdue. You can download the Facebook Messenger update from the links below.

COIN THE UNIVERSAL CREDIT CARD

Coin isn't trying to replace the physical wallet with a digital one. Instead it’s trying to reduce all of the credit, debit, gift and loyalty cards that clutter up our wallets to a single piece of plastic.

Coin stores all your credit, debit, gift, membership or loyalty card data inside it, so all you need to carry with you is the one Coin card and you automatically have all your cards with you, inside it.

Coin looks and works exactly like a credit or a debit card. You add your card information to it using the mobile app and a free accessory they provide. You connect the accessory to your phone and then swipe your current cards through it. The accessory transfers the card data to the phone app and saves it there. Then you take a photo of the card to help you identify it. The app then transfers the card data to the Coin. The app can hold an unlimited number of card data but Coin itself can store up to eight.

When making payments, you just choose the card you want to use from the button on the Coin card and it shows you the card name on the small display. Then you swipe it the same way as you would a normal credit or debit card. Because Coin masks itself as any other card, it can work anywhere where all those other cards do.

Coin also pairs with your phone so if you accidentally forget the card behind (and thereby goes out of the range on your phone), your phone will show a notification alerting you about it. Coin also uses 128 or 256 bit encryption for all storage and communication with the app and servers. If you lose your Coin, it will deactivate itself after a preset time that you can choose from the app.

Coin is currently up for pre-order for $50 ($100 eventually) and will start shipping in Summer 2014 in the US.
