If you are interested in rooting your Nokia X model, it is really easy to do - just follow the four simple steps below, or watch the demonstration video. This procedure is likely to void the phones' warranty, so have this in mind when you fire up the root application on your historic first Nokia with Android.

INSTRUCTIONS

Just as we had expected, Nokia unveiled the Nokia X, which is its first device to run on Android OS. But it was not the only smartphone unveiled and the Finnish company in fact announced its second and third Android smartphones called the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL. The Nokia X is available immediately, in countries including  India, for 89 Euros, while the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL will be available in the second quarter of this year for 99 Euros and 109 Euros respectively.
Talking of the specifications, the Nokia X sports a 4-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. Other features include 4GB of storage with microSD support, 5-megapixel camera and a 1,500mAh battery.

The Nokia XL, on the other hand, flaunts a bigger display – 5-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display — and gets better cameras– 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
These devices all have dual-SIM capabilities and on the software front, run on an AOSP version of Android, which doesn’t have the Google Play Store. Instead, Nokia is offering its own Android store, which has as a combination of its own and Microsoft’s apps. Users will also get access to third-party app stores like Yandex, as well as the ability to sideload other apps.
As an introductory offer, Microsoft is offering buyers one month free calls Skype, and 1GB of OneDrive storage.

HOW TO UPDATE GALAXY S4 TO KITKAT 4.4.2 BY ODIN

NOTE:Before starting the installation process, it is recommended to perform a back-up first. Also, proceed only at your own risk as the IBT media is not responsible for any damages incurred during the process.

INSTRUCTIONS

1 - First download the Android 4.4.2 XXUFNB3 software for Galaxy S4 I9500 from the Samsung flashing application Odin.
2 - Turn off your device then boot Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9500) into download condition by long pressing the Volume.
3 - Press Down + Home + Power Buttons until you see the boot screen then press Volume Up key to continue to Download Mode.
4 - Next extract the Odin 3.07 .zip file you downloaded by right clicking and pressing Run as administrator.
5 - Connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9500) to your computer using USB cable. In the Odin3 screen, if there is a message that pop up showing a COM Port number like "0:[COM7]" at ID:COM section and "Added!" text, this denotes that your phone is detected already.
6 - Ascertain that the only ones checked are the "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" options. Then extract the downloaded firmware .zip file, and then you'll see a software file having .tar.md5.
7 - Next click the PDA button in the Odin screen then choose the firmware file with .tar.md5 extension that looks like this (I9500XXDLJ5_I9500ODDDLI7_INU.tar.md5).
8 - After that, press the Start Button to start the installation, which may take some time.  You would see "PASS" message in the ID:COM port with green background when the installation is done. Then your phone will reboot itself after it is finished. If this happens already disconnect your phone from your computer.
Then you're successfully done! You have the latest version of the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9500).

GALAXY S5 IS NOW OFFICIAL

We have all been waiting for the announcement of Galaxy S5 smartphone from Samsung, and now finally its official. The device looks little slimmer and larger than the previous model Galaxy S4, it is also worth noting that the company has incorporated the awkward looking micro USB 3 port in the device just like the Galaxy Note 3

SIZE COMPARISON OF THE GALAXY S5

The design of the phone is completely revamped although the front looks like any other Galaxy Smartphone. The rear panel of the phone has a texture with dots on it. Another thing worth noting is that the Galaxy S5 has a slightly bigger home button compared to other Galaxy devices, well that may be due to the built-in finger print scanner that’s embedded in the home button.
The bottom of the phone has the Multi-tasking buttonHome button and the back key. Only the home button is physical one and rest 2 are capacitive touch buttons

Samsung Galaxy S5 at a glance:

  • Form factor: Water-resistant bar phone, IP67 certification
  • General: 2G, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity
  • Dimensions: 142 x 72.5 x 8.1mm, 145 g
  • Display: 5.1" 16M-color Super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (431ppi)
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 800 MSM8974-AC
  • CPU: 2.5GHz Krait 400
  • GPU: Adreno 330
  • RAM: 2GB
  • OS: Android 4.4.2 (KitKat)
  • Memory: 16/32GB storage, microSD card slot
  • Still camera: 16 megapixel auto-focus camera
  • Video camera: UHD (2160p) video recording
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 3.0 with MHL, GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, Infrared port
  • Battery: 2800mAh
  • Heart rate monitor
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Additional sensors: humidity sensor, temperature sensor
The screen grew up only a bit and it kept the 1080p resolution rather than going to QHD.
The camera does, however, record UHD video - Samsung's initial information was for 1080p, but we can now confirm it's really 4K UHD (2160p).
Samsung does maintain the clockspeed advantage with a rare Snapdragon 800 chipset and while the fingerprint scanner was no surprise, the heart rate monitor certainly is.
TouchWiz was a bit of a surprise too. We got pumped up for a brand new flat version of Samsung's custom UI.
The back of the device is a new iteration of Samsung's leather-like plastic, with what looks like perforated holes. It only looks like it though, the Galaxy S5 is IP67 certified
